Photographer-electronics Technician I

ELECTRONICS TECH I - PHOTOGRAPHER
Work Location: Weapons Survivability Laboratory - China Lake, California
Primary Functions:
Perform test range photography using special purpose cameras and related equipment. Uses a wide range of photographic equipment for assignments demanding exact renditions, without the opportunity for later retakes, when there are specific problems or uncertainties concerning lighting, exposure time, color, artistry, etc. Equipment used includes but is not limited to still, graphic, and motion picture cameras; video and television cameras; high speed camera systems; remote control devices; and timing or measurement control mechanisms.
Perform preventative maintenance, repair, assembly, modification, and setup of camera, video, and electronic control and timing systems used for unique test photography assignments. Assist with test site setup for precise photographic measurement and control equipment, using high speed photography, natural and synthetic light sources, and/or timed electronic triggering.
Perform test site preparations and cleanup. Move and arrange photographic equipment as per test plan and test coordinator direction. Operate forklift and shop equipment as needed. Other tasking, as required to support customer requirements. Must work well with others, as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
Conditions will vary. Capable of working outdoors and occasionally from elevated work platforms with fall protection harness and in temperatures ranging from 0-120. Position will include: 45% standing, 20% bending, 15% reaching, 5% sitting, 5% walking, and 10% lifting. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Overtime is a requirement of this position.
Education/Experience/Skills:
High school education or equivalent. College, military, trade school, or equivalent on-the-job training commensurate with duties. Minimum of 3 years relevant experience required.
Hands-on experience with comprehensive knowledge of camera and photography equipment. High degree of skill in using and maintaining camera, video, and electronic equipment. Editing (Adobe Premier, Final Cut, etc.) and video (HD, 4k, High-Speed) experience required. Must have experience with documentation, cataloging, and/or data reduction for photography and video data.
Must possess ability to work tactfully with professional engineers, technicians and management staff on all levels of effort. Must have ability to interpret test plans and program requirements. Ability to work at heights while using appropriate fall protection harnesses and safety equipment.
Skilled with hand tools and hand-held power tools.
Possess a valid California drivers license. U.S. Citizenship and a current U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance required for hire and to be maintained throughout employment.
All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
