MSR I - Part Time 30/hrs


Responsible for demonstrating excellent member service in accordance to AltaOnes Core Values. Responsible for handling routine financial transactions and follows established policies and procedures while processing transactions in an effort to minimize losses. Offers AltaOne's products and services as appropriate.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

E 60% Receives, processes, and posts member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; issues money orders and travelers checks, gift cards, share withdrawal checks and cashier's checks for members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed; balances cash/transactions daily.

E 25% Greets members and provides routine information concerning products and services. Refers and cross-sells credit union services after assessing the needs of the member; directs member to appropriate departments for specific information concerning any services as needed.

E 10% Opens and closes deposit accounts for credit union members. N 5% Performs other related duties as needed or assigned.

Performance Measurements:

  • Provides friendly, accurate, and timely assistance to all members.
  • Balances cash drawer within 30 minutes and not be out of balance more than five differences of $10. 00 or more a month, or a total monthly difference equal to $500. 00 in cash or in checks.
  • Maintains an acceptable satisfactory rating on the Quality Loop Survey by successfully demonstrating established external service standards. Consistant to AltaOne's established goal.
  • Refers at least three (3) products or services per eight (8) hour shift, of which 30% result in a sale.

  • Participates as a team member in the department and maintains an acceptable staff satisfaction rating of 90% or better based on the Internal Service Survey (ISS) by demonstrating AltaOne Federal Credit Union's established internal service standards.
  • Completes AltaOne Federal Credit Union's Product Knowledge Assessment annually with a score of 90% or better.
  • Assists others within and outside the department as needed. Performs other related duties as needed or assigned.
  • Knowledge and Skills:


    • Up to six months customer service in retail sales culture where weekly/monthly sales goals must be met.


    • A high school education or GED.

    Interpersonal Skills

    • Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.

    Other Skills

    • Must be able to operate 10 key calculator and computer keyboard by touch and be proficient with MS Word. Must be detail orientated with numbers. Must be able to stand in one place for long periods of time. Must possess basic Math skills.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to lift coin boxes and bags that could weight up to 50 lbs

    Don't Be Fooled

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
