Instrumentation Systems Integration Tech

Job Description Serve as an Instrumentation System Integration / Avionics Technician in support of the Integrated Flight Test Solutions (IFTS) Task Team. Essential Job Functions: Perform fabrication, assembly, repair, installation, removal, design, modification, demodification, configuration, checkout and documentation of Government or Contractor manufactured hardware for Test Support Team systems. Attain and maintain certification to J-STD-001-D, "Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies". Periodic recertification and training/retraining may be required. Perform all work in accordance with current aircraft and technical publications. Conform all wiring to NAVAIR 01-1A-505, "Aircraft Electrical and Electronic Wiring". Interpret complex electrical schematics / drawing packages pursuant to fabrication and modification projects. Fabricate custom electronic assemblies consisting of military-style hardware or commercial equivalents, using industry-standard tools and soldering standards. Assist engineers with lab modification efforts, to include installing unique wire bundles, in-place wiring changes, and re-configuring equipment racks. Assist with Quality Assurance checks and troubleshooting on products according to schematics, using common electronic equipment (e.g. multi-meter, oscilloscope, etc.). Pursuant to the aforementioned functions, interface as required with all levels of the F/A-18 IPT, AV-8B Harrier IPT, VX-31, VX-9, COMSEC Office, Aircraft Instrumentation, and other NAWCWD organizations. Participate in meetings with contractor and government personnel to resolve scheduling, planning, maintenance and other issues. Actively contribute to organizational process improvement activities and task team internal reviews. Initiate professional development and maintain an up-to-date understanding of all Aircraft Instrumentation project requirements and NAWCWD processes as defined in applicable documentation. Job Requirements Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. High school diploma/GED and a minimum of 7 years of applicable experience is required. Will also consider candidate with AS/TS plus 5 years of relevant experience. Must be able to be granted a security clearance and maintain one for the duration of employment. Ability to earn and/or maintain IPC Standard Certifications for soldering, wire harness manufacturing, and PCB assembly. Ability to read electrical schematics and fabrication drawings. Knowledge of military style electrical connector tooling, soldering, and fabrication procedures. Ability to operate basic hand and power tools. Desired Skills: Current J-STD-001-D certification. Surface mount soldering experience. Familiarity with military aircraft and/or avionics systems, especially F/A-18 & E/A-18G. Familiarity with Naval Aviation Maintenance Program. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
